April 10 - Vacaville, California  Well another beautiful day 27 C sunny, no clouds, wind has gone down. - heading off to a suburb of Vacaville for a visit that looks like this:

Spent a few hours in backyard of home next to their  pool under a covered pergola - very nice meet and greet. People were really friendly we've been adopted into the family - met Pat for the first time (George's late cousin's partner)  really great lady she is going to take us salmon fishing at her home in Oregon when we visit.   At 2:12 PM it was 30 C, the locals already complaining it is getting too hot - summer it gets to be around 110 F.

We then headed out to the beach - given directions by hotel - going to Stinson Beach which is just north of San Francisco - we drive thorugh Marin county which is pretty posh - houses on hillsides everywhere.  the road to Stinson Beach is Highway 1 and it is twisty, steep and scary - 35 feet is maxi length of vehicle that can go on this highway - think two way narrow roller coaster - Yikes - 15 and 20 mph curves - some seem to be at 90 degree angle - lupines, wild orange poppies and sage brush line the road
The road you see in the background is is the one we drove on!  This steep twisty road has people bicycling to the beach then going back - talk about being in shape.

The ride was worth it - Stinson Beach is beautiful - off with the sandals - and walked the beach even waded around in the water a bit.

On our way back from the beach the twisty high road finally had me - car sick!!!!  Nuff said:(  but  we survived the Highway 1 (I made a video which will be sent to all once we get home and can burn it on a DVD) and the traffic on the freeways as everyone was heading out of San Francisco home.

Tomorrow laundry, Napa Valley then out to eat with our new adopted family.
