April 9  Vacaville, California   - great sleep in - sunny, still very windy, 25 C - opened our room window and enjoyed the morning sunshine and temp in fact have the window open tonight and can hear the crickets.  We headed out today in shorts and sandals - felt sooo good to be out of heavy clothes.  Not doing much today and won't be taking photos as wind is so strong making every thing shake.  Heading off to have oil change - we had it done before leaving home but having put on a lot of mileage we figured it wouldn't hurt - driving to dealer saw Pistachio farms, asparagus fields, vineyards, eucalyptus trees, orange trees growing in people's yards as well as cactus along country roads, saw people picking strawberries.  So windy yesterday that trees were blown down, sign fell on a car at an auto dealership, 4 cars blown off I-80.  The dealership where had oil changed was really something - no appointment needed - just drive up to service area, your personal service advisor comes out, finds out what your car needs, sends you to sit in his office, he comes back you fill out info, etc. then he leads you to the waiting room which has , fresh coffee and tea, leather furniture and a large screen TV.  After car was oil changed they hand washed it all for $39.00 US.  After oil change we shopped a bit then ate mid day meal and decided to drive around Vacaville and area - lovely homes, nice neighbourhoods with lots of palm trees, and other exotic flora - very California architecture - hope will be able to take photos tomorrow.  Plan on having coffee with relative  then heading out to a beach - Stinson Beach which is suppose to be really nice - time for our walk along a beach on the Pacific Ocean - we were told that it is still too early to go into the water as it is between 50 and 60 degrees - way too cold, huh!
