Richards Landing to Madison WI - early start on a windy snowy spring day  minus 10 degrees Celsius - by the time we reached Escanaba MI it was warming up, less snow, sunny, cloudless sky, dry pavement.  Saw first robin of  2013 - Stopped for lunch at a Perkins Restaurant in Menominee MI (great food as always)- Appleton WI 5 degrees Celsius no snow, sandhill cranes in the fields -  Fond du Lac, WI 6 degrees Celsius, large flights of Canada geese and Snow geese heading north - Arrived in Madison  7 degrees Celsius, no snow, birds singing, slight greening of grass and trees and checked into hotel - great first day on the road - hope tomorrow is just as good - Lincoln Nebraska here we come.
