April 17 - Capitola, California - Our last day - Sunny again , a bit warmer but wind still strong - going to walk the New Brighton Beach on Monteray Bay, in Capitola - parking lot surrounded by eucalyptus trees - the air is so fragrant from the the trees - wish could bottle it and bring home.
New Brighton Beach is on Monteray Bay just south of Capitola - fantastic beach for a walk as it goes on for miles - found sea glass, shells of all kinds, sea weed - saw gulls, cormorants and two types of sand pipers - glorious day - I took off my sandals and walked the edge of the surf - George's cousin told us when beach walking never turn your back on the waves as they can be treacherous.
There was a shark attack at this beach not long ago - the Great White Shark breeding ground is about 30 miles from the beach at a place called Moss Point.
So our time is up and we are now heading for Oregon - it is a long trip so we will be stopping for a night in northern California in a small town near the big redwoods - should get some good photos - me hugging tree etc. Then off to Oregon where we will be getting up at O Dark Thirty one day to do some salmon fishing.
