April 14 - Vacaville to Capitola   Early start today up and away at 8 am - 15 C and sunny (what's new) on our way to Capitola - new sights and sounds ahead - I'm still tired after yesterday need a nap :(    At Benicia, we passed ocean going ships, multiple oil refineries and the hills bathed in haze.  Heavily industrialized, oil storage tanks, some farms, lots of wind farms.  Haze grows as we get closer to Fremont and San Jose.  Flowering shrubs and trees line this older freeway and the hills are covered in trees. Freeway stops and  an 8 mile section of road winds its way through forest - steep hills, bumper to bumper traffic until we break out of the hills and get the freeway back - the 8 mile stretch is sooooo narrow that the trees and rocks are right next to the roadway - no shoulders - it is a beautiful ride.  Capitola is beautiful - a surfer town - lovely, a bit eccentric, a must see for anyone coming this way - visited all day with George's relatives and saw how the locals live in different parts of the area - very eye opening. Dragged ourselves back to hotel and will explore, take photos tomorrow.  Quite a bit cooler here than in Vacaville - might even have to put jeans on instead of shorts.  Vacaville is known as Hades as it is inland and gets extremely hot - Capitola is on the coast and the wind off the Pacific is cool. Let's see what tomorrow brings
